Best Cinematography and Best Editing  – Of Another Time

This short documentary explores the lives and passions of living history reenactors at the Mississinewa 1812 battlefield. Chase Moore (producer), Eric Nystrom (cinematographer), Nicole Klotz (editor).

 

Best Documentary – One Split Second

This moving documentary features Photographer Leah Hoskins who founded a nonprofit organization to give free portraits to families dealing with terminal illness. James Dickinson (producer), Rikki Henry (director), Josh Giuliano (editor).

 

Best Comedy and Audience Choice – Are You Science?

Director/writer Joel Plosz asks the question “Are You Science?” in this spoof of old public TV science shows.

Best Special Effects – CGI Clone Trooper App

Director Bill Parker brings a Star Wars Clone Trooper to life from an iPhone application in this computer-generated adventure.

 

Experimental Movie Trailer – Tempus Fugit

Tempus Fugit is an action-packed trailer for a hypothetical feature. Produced in the Cinematography class by Bill Parker, Eric Nystrom, Grant Gaenzle and Jon Helmholz.

 

Just for Fun – Steadicam and 3D

Highlighting a grand Taylor tradition, “Silent Night” is the basketball game in December that draws the whole campus in pajamas or Christmas attire to Odle Arena. The crowd is silent until Taylor scores the 10th point, and then it’s bedlam. Audience members had to don glasses to view the last section in 3-D.
